
Senior Azure Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining databases in Azure, as well as implementing and managing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory. You will also troubleshoot and optimize SQL performance and monitor and maintain data security. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data solutions, and help identify and implement tools, new processes or enhancements which could increase the efficiency of delivering projects and services.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain databases in Azure
- Design, implement and maintain Azure Synapse Analytics components
- Troubleshoot and optimize SQL performance
- Implement and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Monitor and maintain data security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data solutions
- Help identify and implement the establishment of tools, new processes or enhancements which could increase the efficiency of delivering projects and services.
- Investigate technical support issues as a last line of defense to resolve technical problems in delivery and/or production.
- Quickly break down complex problems into potential solutions, knows and unknows to get to solid resolutions faster.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a database engineer
- Strong experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database
- Strong knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark
- Strong understanding of Azure governance and best practices
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline
- Experience with SQL and T-SQL, and expertise in SQL optimization
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Familiarity with integrating data between Dynamics 365 and other data sources
- Familiarity with RedGate suite of products a plus
- Familiarity with the data transformation tool Alteryx a plus
- Familiarity with data integration between Salesforce and other data sources a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or relevant industry certifications (MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration, etc.)
