Senior Software Engineer (C# and .NET) - Contract

**This is a 6 month contract opportunity collaborating directly with our client (both W2 and 1099 options are available). There's potential for extending the contract for 12 months or more, or transitioning into a full-time role with the client. This position is fully remote. Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.**

Emergent Software is looking for a senior software engineer who is a smart, passionate, and curious problem solver with experience using the Microsoft stack to solve business problems. A qualified candidate is a full stack software developer with advanced knowledge of C# and .NET and experience leading software development projects. This 100% remote position is for self-starters with good communication skills, work ethic, and the ability to participate in all aspects of the agile software development life cycle.  Ideal candidate will be proficient in swiftly immersing themselves into diverse projects, demonstrating an ability to hit the ground running from the outset. 

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front-end web applications using JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Design, implement, and maintain back-end APIs using C# and .NET (with a preference for .NET Core) with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Manage and optimize SQL Server databases with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
• Utilize NoSQL/Document databases, with a preference for MongoDB, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Work on microservice development, including the use of Swagger, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Develop within containerized environments, with a preference for Kubernetes, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay up-to-date with industry trends.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation).
• Familiarity with the Svelte JavaScript framework.
• Experience with InnerSource development practices.
• Proficiency in MicroUI/MicroApp development.
