Job description
**This is a direct hire with one of our clients in Seattle, WA. This role will report onsite M-Th with the ability to work remotely on Fridays. Ability to travel within the United States is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
Our client is seeking a Account Executive (Department Store) to manage and grow strategic retail partnerships within the department store channel. This role serves as the primary point of contact for buyers, planners, and store leadership while driving sales, optimizing inventory performance, supporting merchandising initiatives, and identifying opportunities for account expansion. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship-building skills with analytical thinking and a passion for delivering exceptional retail results.
Primary Duties
Serve as the primary contact for department store buyers, assistant buyers, planners, and store leadership teams
Build trusted relationships that support long-term account growth and customer satisfaction
Analyze sales, inventory, and sell-through performance to identify opportunities and address risks
Develop recommendations for replenishment, assortment expansion, inventory balancing, and promotional activities
Conduct regular store visits to evaluate product performance, support store teams, and strengthen retailer relationships
Manage the order lifecycle from purchase order receipt through delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment
Coordinate with internal teams including Operations, Production, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Service
Support product launches, seasonal assortments, line reviews, and market appointments
Maintain accurate sales reports, inventory reporting, forecasting, and account documentation
Identify opportunities to expand product distribution, increase revenue, and grow existing partnerships
Develop presentations, sales materials, and merchandising recommendations for both current and prospective retail partners
Travel as needed for customer meetings, market events, store visits, and trade shows

Power BI and retailer reporting portals

CRM and account management platforms
Retailer ordering and inventory management systems
E-commerce and drop-ship platforms
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in account management, retail sales, merchandising, buyer relations, or a similar customer-facing role
Experience working with department stores, large retail organizations, or national retail accounts
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis
Strong understanding of sales reporting, inventory management, forecasting, and retail KPIs
Ability to independently manage accounts and make business recommendations based on data
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Comfortable presenting to buyers, leading meetings, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to travel regularly for customer visits and industry events
Nice to Have Experience
Experience working with luxury, premium, home décor, gift, fashion, or specialty retail products
Direct experience supporting department store accounts such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard's, or similar retailers
Experience managing drop-ship programs and e-commerce retail partnerships
Familiarity with retailer portals, product onboarding processes, and merchandising systems
Experience creating sales presentations, assortment recommendations, and retailer business reviews
Experience using Power BI or similar reporting platforms
Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field
