Job description

**This is a 6 month contract opportunity collaborating directly with our client (both W2 and 1099 options are available).This position is fully remote. Candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.**

Emergent Staffing is seeking a motivated and experienced Product Owner. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and delivering innovative software products and features that align with our client's strategic goals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, design, marketing, and stakeholders to create products that deliver customer value and business success.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Work with stakeholders to define the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects customer needs and company goals.
  • User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Write clear and concise user stories, define acceptance criteria, and ensure development teams have a deep understanding of requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment on priorities and progress.
  • Sprint Planning: Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team during sprint planning to ensure stories are ready and can be completed within the sprint.
  • Feature Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of features and enhancements by providing clear requirements, removing obstacles, and making informed decisions during development.
  • Customer Focus: Understand and represent the needs of the customer, utilizing data-driven insights to inform product decisions and improve the user experience.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze and monitor product performance post-launch, gathering feedback and using data to guide future iterations and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or as a product owner in an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience managing a product roadmap and backlog.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Experience with data analysis and using customer feedback to drive product decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Aha!, etc.).
