Job description
**This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client. Candidates based in or near Glastonbury, CT are preferred; however, those within a reasonable travel distance (short drive or flight) will be considered for an arranged hybrid schedule. Regular on-site presence will be expected. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
The Infrastructure Manager owns the organization’s cloud and infrastructure environment, creating clear accountability, reducing technical and financial debt, and supporting reliable IT operations for both the home office and active job sites.
Responsibilities
Own and manage cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on AWS
Reduce cloud financial and technical debt through cleanup, optimization, and governance
Establish clear ownership and accountability for infrastructure platforms and tools
Administer Microsoft 365 and apply best practices
Partner closely with the Systems Engineer to support networking and job sites
Lead infrastructure initiatives, automation efforts, and system integrations
Support job site mobilization, including ISP coordination and network timelines
Manage third‑party vendors and statements of work as needed
Balance speed and stability to avoid disrupting field operations
Qualifications
Experience managing AWS or similar cloud infrastructure
Background in enterprise IT environments
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
Proven ability to reduce cloud costs and clean up legacy systems
Experience supporting distributed or field‑based teams
Strong communication skills with an ownership mindset
Preferred Skills
Azure experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Intune
Job site networking or ISP management experience
Exposure to infrastructure automation or infrastructure‑as‑code
Experience in construction, energy, or industrial environments
