***This 6+ month contract-to-hire position offers a path to long-term employment and includes a hybrid schedule with onsite collaboration Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the West suburbs of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
We are seeking a Senior Software Architect with deep experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications built on the Microsoft technology stack. This role will serve as a technical leader for core platform services, enterprise applications, shared libraries, and microservices that support numerous downstream systems across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while remaining actively involved in software development. This individual will provide architectural guidance, evaluate downstream impacts of platform changes, support release planning and governance, and help mature engineering processes, work definition, and delivery practices. The right person can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, helping the team deliver high-quality solutions while improving structure, scalability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, microservices, and shared platform components.
Provide architectural leadership for core platform applications and shared NuGet packages consumed by multiple downstream systems.
Evaluate the impact of platform changes across dependent applications and services.
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to long-term platform strategy.
Support release planning, change management activities, stakeholder communication, and deployment governance.
Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions that support critical business operations.
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a focus on performance, reliability, and long-term supportability.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical planning sessions.
Contribute to CI/CD improvements, deployment automation, and engineering best practices.
Help strengthen backlog refinement, work definition, and Product Backlog Item (PBI) creation processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across interconnected enterprise systems.
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on platform architecture, development practices, and solution design.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Qualifications
7+ years of professional experience developing software using C# and .NET.
Strong experience with modern .NET technologies, including ASP.NET Core.
Experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications in production environments.
Strong proficiency with SQL Server and Azure-based solutions.
Experience working within microservices-based architectures.
Experience supporting shared frameworks, libraries, services, or platforms used by multiple dependent applications.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development.
Experience evaluating technical risk, release planning, downstream impacts, and change management processes.
Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in development work.
Willingness to work onsite as a long-term commitment.
