System Configuration Lead (LOS/LAS)

**This is a 6 month contract to hire for one of our clients located in the Bloomington, MN area in a hybrid role. Candidates in Washington, D.C. area will also be considered. Eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship or visa.**

Our client is seeking an experienced System Configuration Lead (LOS/LAS) to serve as the primary point person for Loan Origination System (LOS) and Loan Automation System (LAS) configuration and support initiatives. This is a newly created position designed to bring structure, alignment, and leadership to a growing configuration and support organization within a dynamic mortgage lending environment.

This role will work closely with business leaders, end users, and IT teams to streamline workflows, establish priorities, improve communication, and drive effective governance of configuration requests across critical lending platforms.

While this is not a formal people-management role, it will serve as a team lead and trusted advisor responsible for coordinating configuration efforts, prioritizing work, improving processes, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for LOS/LAS configuration requests and support activities.

• Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to intake, evaluate, prioritize, and communicate configuration requests.

• Provide leadership and guidance to configuration and support team members without formal HR management responsibilities.

• Establish and improve workflows, procedures, service level expectations, and governance processes.

• Create visibility into project and request status through reporting, presentations, and stakeholder communications.

• Balance operational support needs with long-term process improvement initiatives.

• Facilitate meetings and discussions to align business requirements with technical solutions.

• Help define team roles, responsibilities, ownership models, and prioritization frameworks.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery across support and configuration functions.

• Maintain strong relationships with business leaders, end users, and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Mortgage industry experience is required.

• LOS/LAS configuration experience is required.

• Extensive mortgage industry experience, including wholesale and correspondent lending.

• Demonstrated experience configuring LOS and/or LAS platforms.

• Strong understanding of mortgage origination processes, workflows, and lending operations.

• Proven ability to lead technical teams or initiatives without direct people-management responsibility.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Experience managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to prioritize requests, manage expectations, and appropriately challenge business requests when necessary.

• Experience developing reports, status updates, and leadership presentations.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with both LOS and LAS platforms.

• Experience with one or more of the following systems: Lauramac, Vesta, BeSmartee, LoanPASS

• Product Owner, Business Analyst, or systems leadership experience.

• Experience supporting configuration development, testing, and release activities.

• Deep mortgage lending expertise beyond foundational industry knowledge.
